Date: Monday 10 June
Time: 1.00pm-4.00pm
Location: SFWI Headquarters, 6, Paris, Parklands, Railton Rd. GU2 9JX
Sheena your tutor and SFWI Treasurer will cover the essential areas for a treasurer to know, together with the areas most often asked about in recent months. These include ‘What is the role of the Treasurer?’, ‘How and where to record transactions?’, ‘Reconciling the bank Account’, ‘What is an Agent?’, a discussion of expenditure that is allowed, practical problems resulting from bank closures, Covid, and other topics as required. The workshop format means you can have input and will learn from other treasurers too. Participation is helpful but not essential.
These workshops are for Treasurers, Assistant Treasurers, and anyone thinking about the role. If you have an area you would like to be covered, please let the office know when you book so it can be included if possible.
If you have specific queries about your WI’s figures, there may be a chance to answer them, in which case please bring your laptop or accounts book with you. WiFi access is available. The current version of the Surrey spreadsheet and the Treasurers’ Handbook are available in the treasurers section of the Surrey Federation website https://surreyfedwi.org.uk/resources/document-library/.
Tickets cost £9 for the session. With the agreement of your Wl’s members, the ticket cost and reasonable travel costs may be reclaimed from your WI. Biscuits, tea and coffee will be provided.
Free Parking
Surrey WI members only
If your WI has not agreed to cover the costs for this workshop, please state so in the additional information box at the time of booking.
