OUR GROUPS
Interest groups are formed when a group of members from different WIs decide to meet regularly to improve their knowledge/ability/interest in a particular subject. The groups run themselves and are self funding.
We currently have interest groups who meet at various venues around the county, or at the Federation’s Guildford headquarters where they have free use of the conference room.
Camera Group
Camera Group members take it in turns to arrange a visit to a suitable venue of interest where photographs can be taken. They also receive advice on how to achieve good photographs with I-Pads and mobile phones and are encouraged to enter photographic competitions. Their work often appears in the monthly magazine and on our social media.

Crafty Ladies
Crafty Ladies meet at the Federation headquarters, usually on the first Wednesday in January, March, May, July, September and November.
The object is for members to pursue and develop a wide range of craft activities in a friendly atmosphere with others of a like-mind – currently they have expertise in at least nine different crafts. Occasionally workshops are set up so that members can learn a new skill or improve their expertise in a skill they already have and there is plenty of free help and advice available at meetings. Any member of a Surrey WI can join for an annual subscription or is welcome to attend as a visitor.

Surrey Serenaders
Surrey Serenaders was founded in 2013 to take part in the NFWI Singing for Joy Centenary Choir Competition, where they won their regional heat and achieved joint second place in the national final. Since then, the choir has continued to thrive, bringing members together through the enjoyment and wellbeing benefits of singing. They perform for WIs and community groups, enter competitions, and support fundraising events. Rehearsals are held on alternate Saturdays from 10.00am–12.30pm at Albury Village Hall (GU5 9AD). New members are always welcome—whether or not they are WI members—and a free trial rehearsal is available with no obligation.

Climate Ambassadors
For Surrey WI members who have an interest in and passion for protecting our planet. The Climate Ambassadors Group brings together members who want to learn, share ideas, inspire others, and take positive action on environmental and climate issues. Whether you’re already actively involved or just beginning your sustainability journey, you’ll find a welcoming community committed to making a difference, one step at a time.

Theatre Group
A welcoming Facebook community for Surrey Federation WI members who enjoy theatre. The group shares ticket offers and opportunities to book shows via TicketSource, while bringing members together to discuss performances, share photos, write reviews, and connect with fellow theatre enthusiasts.
