Demonstrator Training

By Training PageNo Comments

Demonstrators offering to tutor craft courses are invited to attend a short interview with members of the Home Economics, Craft and Gardening Committee. They tell us about themselves, their expertise in their chosen field and examples of the craft they are able to offer members attending a course. This will include their fee for tuition (whether a half or full day), travel expenses and the cost of materials they will provide for the course.

The Federation also offers the NFWI Demonstrator Training Course. On successful application, members undertake a series of workshops where they acquire the skills necessary to demonstrate their chosen area of expertise. This could fall under the category of baking, preserves, craft and floral art. On completion of the training they present a demonstration which is assessed by an NFWI approved assessor.

Demonstrator training sessions will be bookable from the What’s On page. Click Training Events to check if there is an upcoming one.

Committee Training

By Training Page

Part of the role of the Federation WI Adviser team is to offer training for WI members, committees and officers. We are able to use templates supplied by the NFWI where available and can adapt them where required. Some of our workshops have been created by the Advisers using knowledge and information gained by our training and experience. We run the workshops either around the Federation at various venues or sometimes all together as part of a full day training event.

Support to run some of the workshops if needed comes from trustees, those with Federation roles and other members.

Most of the information required to run your WI is available online in MyWI which can be accessed through www.thewi.org, but attending workshops provides the opportunity for interaction with the Advisers and other members. Feedback forms from workshops tell us that one of your favourite parts of any training is the opportunity to share ideas, tips and hints with each other.

Committee training sessions will be bookable from the What’s On page. Click Training Events to check if there is an upcoming one.
