Ticket application closing date: Wednesday 28 December
Location: Surrey Federation of WIs, 6 Paris, Parklands, Railton Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 9JX.
Sheena your tutor and SFWI Treasurer will plan to cover what she considers the essential areas together with the areas she is asked about most often. This includes:
- What is the role of the treasurer?
- How or where to record transactions?
- Reconciling the bank account,
- What is an agent?
- Discussion of type expenditure that is allowed,
- Practical problems resulting from bank closures and other topics as required.
The workshop format means you can have an input and will learn from other Treasurers too. Participation is helpful but not essential. This also means the topics covered in most detail are flexible as Sheena will concentrate on what appears to be the main requirements of the attendees.
These workshops are for Treasurers, Assistant Treasurers and anyone thinking about this role.
If you have specific queries about your WI’s figures Sheena might have a chance to answer them on the day, in which case please bring laptop or accounts book with you.
Wi-Fi access cannot be guaranteed.
The current version of the Surrey spreadsheet and the Treasurers Handbook are available in the WI Treasurers section of the Document Library page as well as in the Treasurer Documents folder in the SWFI Sharepoint General file in Office 365.
Tickets cost £9 for the session. Before booking this ticket you should have the agreement of your WI members. The ticket cost and reasonable travel costs may be reclaimed from your WI.
Tea and coffee will be provided.
Parking is available and free.
Surrey WI members only.
If your WI has not agreed to cover the costs for this workshop, please state so in the additional information box at the time of booking.
