Have you always wanted to make a loose cover or do you have one that needs replacing but were unsure where to begin?
Tutor Penny Garrard will teach you to measure up, calculate the amount of fabric you need, choose a suitable fabric, work out a cutting plan, construct your cover, learn how to pipe, and make sample valances and closures. All you need is a pencil, a rubber, a ruler, a cloth (not metal) tape measure, sewing machine, needles (hand and machine), scissors and thread. You will be working out a cutting plan on graph paper but no complicated maths is required. As long as you are happy with using your sewing machine then this is the course for you.
Tea/coffee will be provided, but bring your own lunch.
The cost of this workshop is £35. Please book via the online booking form.
Surrey WI members only.
