A Day Making Music – Percussion and Handbell Ringing | Surrey Federation of Women's Institutes

Time: 10.30am to 3.30pm

Location: Merrist Wood College, Holly Lane, Worplesdon, Guildford, GU3 3PE.

You will spend 2 hours participating in either the percussion or hand bell ringing workshop and after a break for lunch you will join the other workshop for your second session.

Percussion tutors: Nigel Bates. Nigel has worked for more than 40 years in and out of London’s Royal Opera House, including 17 years as Principle Percussion with the Orchestra and 8 years as the Music Administrator for the Royal Ballet. He will be assisted by Stephen.

Handbell ringing tutors: Sandra Winter, who entertained us at the Autumn Federation Meeting, along with her husband.

Please bring a packed lunch with you. Tea / coffee will be provided.

Cost of this event is £30.00.

1. Applications for tickets before the closing date cannot be guaranteed. Applications for tickets after the closing date may not be accepted. The office will email a confirmation that your application has been received.
2. If the event is oversubscribed at the closing date, then a ballot for tickets will take place and the applicant will be advised of the outcome.
3. PLEASE NOTE – It is the responsibility of the applicant to maintain a list of names of all those on whose behalf they are ordering tickets.
4. REMEMBER – Tickets may only be ordered if the applicant has paid the WI for them. WI funds cannot be used to cover the cost of tickets not required.
5. CANCELLATION – Tickets may be cancelled before the event closing date without charge, otherwise all tickets have to be paid for.
6. All tickets ordered online along with any other instructions and an invoice will be sent to the WI Treasurer for distribution after the closing date.
7. Non-members, where applicable, may order tickets by printing this completed form and sending it to the Federation HQ together with a cheque payable to ‘SFWI’ for the full amount of tickets ordered and a self-addressed envelope for the return of tickets and instructions. Individuals may also apply in this way.
8. REMINDER – Members are reminded that they take part in all events at their own risk.
