Discover what you can do with Mince.

EVERY day we see minced pork, beef, lamb and poultry on the butcher’s and supermarket counters. But what can you do with it? Join Hazel Will and the Surrey WI Cookery Team for a discussion on how and when to use fresh, frozen or home-made raw or cooked minced meat.

You will make and take home four items, one made from each of the above minced meats. Items may include koftas, sausage rolls, pie filling, meatballs/burgers, pasta sauce or meatloaf.We will discuss but not cook meat alternatives. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, want to refresh your skills or just want to join other WI women and learn — we are happy to have you join us.

The cost: £27.50. The session will cover issues such as buying and weighing ingredients, storing and cooking meat and adapting recipes.There will be a refreshment break and plenty of time to ask questions.

We will provide ALL the ingredients and recipes (please let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements.The classroom kitchen is not a ‘free-from kitchen’ so some allergies cannot be catered for).

Bring an apron, two tea towels, a mug (tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided) and containers to take your cooking home.
