The forgotten arm of the RAF – an insight to the Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA)

The story of the men, and particularly the women who took to the skies during WW2 in unarmed aircraft, with no radio, a map and only rudimentary instructions on how to fly a particular plane.

It will be graphically explained to us by Richard Poad, the Chairman of Maidenhead Heritage Centre, in his fascinating talk ‘Grandma Flew Spitfires’ – a forgotten history of courage, skill and sacrifice.

This event is open to everyone.

The cost of a place is £5.00 and can be booked via Eventbrite.
