EVER wondered how easy (or difficult) it is to make those lovely beadwork necklaces and bracelets?
Tutor Ruth Vickery will be happy to show you at a workshop in which you will receive an introduction to basic bead weaving skills including attaching a clasp, fastening off a thread and joining a new one. You will also gain a more in-depth knowledge of the stitches used in beadwork and an understanding of potential variations.
You will be working on a piece similar to those pictured and will probably not complete it by the end of the day, but you will have the beads, clasp and the knowledge to finish it at home. The cost is £17, plus (payable to the tutor on the day) £3 for the beading kit, which includes a booklet, beading mat, needle and thread and £6.50 max. for beads and a clasp for the bracelet that you make.
Tea and coffee will be served but you will need to bring a packed lunch. The closing date for applications is 21 February.
