Find fun new ways to fill your freezer
We’ve all had that moment when we wished a particular meal was already made and only needed heating through. Well, why not join Hazel Will and the Surrey WI cookery team who will show you how to make a few basic recipes with items such as pastry, meat or cake and then look at alternative ways to use them as meals, or part meals, for and from the freezer.
We will discuss oven cooking; how to defrost safely and how to make meals cost effective and fun. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, want to refresh your skills or just want to join other WI members and learn. We are happy to have you join us.
The session will cover many practical issues such as the buying and weighing of ingredients, packaging for the freezer and how to adapt recipes. We will have a refreshment break and there will be plenty of time to ask questions.
ALL the ingredients and recipes are provided but please let us know when booking if you have allergies or dietary requirements. The school’s classroom kitchen is not a ‘free-from’ kitchen so some allergies cannot be catered for.
Please bring with you an apron, three tea towels, a mug (tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided), cool bag with frozen blocks if you have them or a container in which you can safely keep your food until it gets to your freezer.
The cost is £27.50, payable in advance.
The closing date is 27 March.
