An Introduction to Acrylics with Alice May Tomkins
Alice will be working through a simple, bright and cheerful acrylic painting of a foxglove.
She will discuss fundamental elements required to creating an economical but presentable finished piece, from canvas selection through the painting process to final framing options. The demonstration will include a series of videos showing the different stages of creation from blank canvas to finished piece, with several breaks for questions.
While Alice doesn’t necessarily recommend painting along whilst watching the demo due to the need for some stages to dry before adding more, there is no reason why viewers shouldn’t do so if they particularly wish to.
The colours Alice will be using include light green, emerald green, Hooker’s green, titanium white, process magenta, silk purple and cobalt blue. However, the same effects can be achieved with a dark, a medium and a light green, a dark and a light pink and a mid-blue paint, so please use whatever you have to hand if you are giving this a go.
Full details as to what you will need on the day will be sent to you in the confirmation booking email.
This event is open to everyone.
The cost of a place is £6.50 and can be booked via Eventbrite.
